Yahoo Local: Promoting Your Site and Business

If you have created a site and your business only caters to a particular area, Yahoo Local can serve as a free tool to promote your business to your local market.On the other hand, make sure that you have published your website before submitting it to your local listing; otherwise, they will reject your submission.

You can submit your website to be considered for Yahoo Local Listing through clicking the set up link found in the Promote Section of the Getting Started Wizard. However, this can only be available when you are using your Web Hosting Plan. On the Promote Tab of the Web Hosting Control Panel, you can begin promoting business immediately.

Nevertheless, even if your business does not have a website, you can still register for Yahoo Local Listing, sans website address. Yahoo Local Listing is offering both free and paid listing, which is the Basic (Free) and Enhanced Listing.

Basic Listing

It allows you to share important information to your customers such as address, phone number and Website URL. (click here if you want to know more)

Enhanced Listing

Enhanced Listing is a paid service listing by Yahoo that allows Yahoo users to provide more comprehensive information of your business in addition to address, phone number and Website URL. This includes 10 photos, company tagline, searchable long description, two additional links and performance reports which allows users to view your customers’ activity on your listing.
